Pun Intended is a slam-style, pun making, community-focused clever comedy competition
Your hostess's back!
Pun Intended with Mistress of Pheremonies, Master of Ceremonies, Forest E.I. Ember
What is a Pun-Slam? Allow us to walk you through this event…
Step 1: Arrive - A fantastic decision; you’re already winning!
Step 2: Decide if you intend to compete, would like to judge, or just sit back and enjoy the show.
Step 3: If you decide to compete, you are now an Intender, intending to win, and will be given a prompt with up to an hour (depending on your arrival time – Doors open at 6pm, Show is at 7pm) to come up with your two-minute schtick for round two.
For example, if your prompt is “cheese” your schtick could go something along the lines of, “Wow, everyone here is really lookin’ Sharp; I hope ya’ll don’t get too Shredded! You little Muensters spending lots of Cheddar tonight? Tipping your bar staff, I hope!”
You will also receive free entry, a drink ticket, and the chance to win a gift card to the venue, and a T-shirt!
If you decide to be a judge, you will be handed a dry-erase board and marker (for the evening).
In between rounds,
local comedians will perform punny sets!!!!
How The Competition Works:
Round 1 - In pairs of two, Intenders (volunteers from the audience) approach the stage and are given a prompt to collaborative pun with (no one goes on stage alone for the first round and we are making friends here)!
Round 2 - The Intenders come up one by one to share their puns with the prompt provided before the show began.
Round 3 - The top 4 punners pun-off head to head until we have a ChampiPun who wins gift card the venue, a rad T-shirt, bragging rights, and big cheers!

Jules Maes is the oldest bar in Seattle and we are extremely happy to become part of its history. Jules Maes “The Mayor of Georgetown” was a magnetic man that earned his nickname through hard work, caring for others, and his strong community service. We can only hope to accomplish half the praise and respect he earned.
Rache’, the new owner, has been slingin’ drinks since 2001. She loves people, good food, good drinks, and good laughs. Jules Maes was a part of her first date with her husband. They married in September of 2020 right after she took over Jules Maes. She cannot express how grateful and honored she is to care for this historic saloon.
It is her goal to keep Jules Maes how you all know it. Great comfort food with a bistro flair. Freshly squeezed drinks…Who doesn’t love fresh OJ in mimosas or screwdrivers??? Rache’s favorite is fresh-squeezed greyhounds. So good.
Lastly, the venue is back! Music has returned to Georgetown!
